We've been working with a major global retailer with over 1,000 locations to develop custom workflows tailored to their exact needs. The challenge with proprietary fashion solutions? They’re often too rigid, with limited UIs that don’t allow for customization, making it hard for the client to achieve exactly what they envision.
On top of that, these closed solutions can be a black box when it comes to data handling, raising concerns about privacy and control. With open-source, however, they get the flexibility, transparency, and adaptability they need to fully realize their vision.
We've also found that within larger organizations, individual departments have a range of distinct needs. For instance:
- designers need a focused, flexible tool to ideate and experiment with new styles but based on historical work. Perfect for custom trained models. More limited proprietary solutions don't have that customizability, and therefore generations are a range of random hit or miss outputs.
- Internal fashion reviews require realistic and detailed visualizations to help creative decision-makers confidently choose which designs to progress along to the next production steps—an expensive process that currently relies on frequent photoshoots, fashion models, and mock-ups.
- And in production, updating photography for the website and marketing materials becomes a costly challenge when fabrics or details are updated on an existing garment, yet reshoots are costly or aren’t always feasible.
While there are proprietary products that address individual parts of these processes, none provide end-to-end support for the entire creative lifecycle, from initial concept to final production, nor do they adequately address any one part. Open-source solutions are the only option to have the flexibility and adaptability to meet these varied needs.
